Hi, this hotel is due to open shortly, has anyone wandered past it and seen if the place looks ready or is there still much work to be done please? We've not been to Dubai and wanted to get a view as to whether this would be a good place to research along with others such as the Waldorf Astoria.
We are still undecided as one is AI and the other I think you can choose which basis you stay. Do they have lots of restaurants nearby? Thank you in advance. Thank you swrxp47 for the feedback on weather, on the topic of working women I was quite suprised to read it as I was under the impression UAE was particularly strict this could have been a wrong impression I've been given by others when discussing Emirates in the past. The post on this subject was on this forum. My concern with booking the Rixon RAK is that it's not yet open due to open next month.
With local knowledge of how things progress in UAE by then would you think it will have sorted out any initial opening teething problems? Sum, don't get me wrong, there is prostitution all over the world and the UAE is not exempt. I could take you to a "nightclub" in RAK where there are girls dancing on the stage for the audience entertainment.
You then buy a flower garland and place it around the dancer of your choice The area where the Rixos is being developed is still under construction and the last time I went down for a look was still a bit of a building site and very scruffy.
I had to get permission from the site guard to have a look around. I used to visit the area to go to Spinneys supermarket for my pork bacon and sausage fix but Spinneys has opened in RAK town so no need to make the trek anymore.
