We'll be staying at the Copenhagen Marriott. Wondering if the sauna is coed or not? Does one drape with a towel or not? Also wondering if they have a cold plunge pool like saunas in Germany , or just showers in the locker rooms? That cold pool plunge after a hot sauna is amazing. Like in the US, the public area saunas are usually co-ed and then the ones in the individual locker rooms are of course not.
Not sure what the rules are, but guys seem to go naked a lot in the men's, but I have seen locker rooms where you can rent these goofy loin cloths. Just do what you want and have a towel at hand in case someone gives you the stink eye. I have been to a place that has the plunge pool, it's called the Frederiksberg Swimming Hall, but I'm not sure about the Marriott.
It is a great question and we never quite figured out the answer. We still laugh when we retell the story of the 2 older Danish women who lectured very loudly my husband and sons for their dress code or lack there of.
To this day we do not know what these women said. Its a top notch public sauna with excellent fascilities including the plunge pool with ice cold water.
Also "Sauna gus" is performed several times daily - a special feature originating from Germany where the sauna gets extra heated. This topic has been closed to new posts due to inactivity.
